The adventures I miss most

Today dates three years since my father died, and such anniversaries always bring up lots of memories. One of the things I miss most, is the (little) adventures we used to have together. When I think of my father, I think of him in his blue shorts and t-shirts when we were on holidays. Simply because I feel like that was when he was really himself. We all were. I decided to look for some old photos of our trips together, and although they are lovely pictures, they aren't nearly as beautiful as these moments were when we lived through them.

Please don't think I only miss my dad on the day we lost him. When you lose someone you love, you feel it every day.

My Brother Graduated!

Yesterday I was granted a day off school to witness the official graduation of my brother, who got his bachelor degree in English Language and Culture at the university of Utrecht. So from now on forth he's allowed to call himself "Bachelor of Arts" and I am very proud of that.

As I was sat in the beautiful hall where the diploma ceremony was held, I couldn't help but feel very excited; thinking that, maybe, one day I would be sitting in the very same room to retrieve my university degree. Who knows?

This week seems to be a bit 'future' and 'university' orientated overall, because tomorrow I will be visiting the University of Utrecht to take a look and listen to people talk about a course called 'Language and Culture', which is quite a bit different as to what my brother has just finished.

I don't know if it's just me, but I find it rather strange to be looking at future schools and universities at this point in my life. It gives me the feeling like I'm going to leave very soon, while the truth is that I've still got 1,5 more years of secondary education to finish! It's just odd to think about your future. It all seems so far away but really, it's not. Some might say it's scary, but I mostly just find it exciting. I'm thrilled to find out what the future holds for me.

Autumn Shopping

Took a little trip to the city (Utrecht) with my best friend last Sunday! I was in serious need of warmer clothes, and I found some! It seems I've found myself a new favourite place to shop in Utrecht, and it's its Pull & Bear! Awesome fabrics, great styles and a broad range of clothes!

Not only did we shop, we also decided to act a little touristy in the city we know by heart ;) When you haven't got the means for travelling, looking at your home-city in a different way can just make you feel that bit more exotic!
