It's been a while!

Hi everybody!

I'm not sure whether I should apologize for not updating the past week?

You see, the willingness to write was really there! I promise! It's just that my week has been crazy and I've been so busy that I just couldn't find the rest to sit down and blog.

But I'm back and I'm posting so let's look at what's ahead and not at the past ;)

Above all things, I need to update my Instagram Alphabet as I want to start posting on Instagram again. However, the photo I've already got for the letter H is not really what it's cracked up to be so I'm intending on making a new and girly one instead. The only minor trouble I'll be facing is that the sunny days are gone for a while so I might have to use a flash (which I hate) :( But I've not lost hope and I'm going to do my best to create something pretty to publish ♥

That's for the future, but here's for the present:

It's G! :D

I'm probably going to get really excited, so please just bear with me ;)

G is for Game, Glass, Grimm's Fairy Tales, Gift and Green.

Starting off with the Game, that's the prettiest Game I could find inside my house :p And believe me; we have a lot. You see, my brother LOVES playing games (albeit card games not as much) and his room is loaded with the largest boxes of strategical table games. He plays them with his friends and some take an entire day to finish! I love that he enjoys it so much, but I hate the lengthy time it takes up. My brother is soon-to-be twenty-two and his friends are around the same age, and when there's about 5 young-adults with energy-drinks inside the house it can get really smelly. I don't like smelly. I myself am not really a gamer, but I do enjoy a card game from time to time.

When it's a special day, say, Easter, Christmas or a birthday; I always love to get up a little earlier to deck the table with the prettiest tablecloth/cutlery and also Glasses. :) It's been a while, but my mum always loved to visit second-hand shops to buy pretty cups and Glasses. I suppose the reason she stopped is because the amount of porcelain we've got at home is getting out of hand ;) I love every single cute cup and glass we own, and I felt like this little liquor glass looked really pretty with the rest of the objects in the photo.

Booo-riiing! Let's get to the point where I get really excited! :)))

Grimm's Fairy Tales! Alright, you caught me; When I bought this book I was totally being a hipster and merely bought it for its nice old cover. However, when I got to studying more advanced English in my school I also learned to love the words within it. I will be 16 years old in less than a month, and I'm addicted with fairy tales. I love everything about them. I love the old stories, I love the new versions created by Once Upon a Time, I love the Efteling (a Dutch theme-park revolving all around fairy tales, fables and legends), I love fairy tale musicals and I love Disney ♥ I've adored these stories ever since I was a child, but never as much as I adore them right now. Also; please don't ask me for my favourite! There are so many lovely tales collected by the Grimm brothers but also Andersen that I could never pick a single one :) What I love most about this book that I own, is that it uses this semi-old kind of English that can be a bit of a puzzle to read and pronounce when you're not a native speaker. As I like storytelling, that can be quite a challenge! Especially when there's little songs included in the story and you have no idea how you're supposed to sing them so you just imagine. I love that, imagination. Passive creativity; they wrote down the story and it's up to you to make it sound interesting. I simply can't wait till I've got children and I get to read them bed time stories, I'm gonna make such a scene they'll have to be tired by the end of it ;) I got this book from a second-hand shop, by the way :)

Now who doesn't love some bubbles? This Gift is, of course, not a real gift. It is one of the amazing products from a shop called Lush. I've talked about my undying love for this shop before but I just can't stress it enough. Lush products are amazing. A little expensive at times, but amazing. You get so much great for every euro/dollar/pound you pay ♥ Lush products are made of organic products (I believe) and are not tested on animals beforehand. Lush fights animal testing, and I think that's a great cause. Although recently I have learned many things about ethics and animal testing, I stand with my opinion that it is wrong to use animals for our cosmetics. It's just some sort of gut feeling, please don't ask me about it.

To wrap up this post I'm going to talk about my favourite colour, which is Green. Green and blue, to be honest. I love green because it's a sign of life. The leafs on the trees, fresh grass, forests, plants, mosses; I love it all ♥ I tend to get really excited when I see the first signs of spring, with the little buds in the trees. Then I think; soon the world will be green again :) I love blue because it associates with my favourite place(s) on earth, namely the beach. I love jumping and swimming and laughing in the ocean so I always connect the colour blue with my favourite feeling in the world.

I do hope you liked this update, and that it was a proper make up for the lost time.

The Fault In Our Stars

Hi everybody!

How is everyone doing this Saturday? I had a bit of a rough time the past few days, for personal reasons, but I'm feeling much better today :) Good enough, at least, to update my Instagram Alphabet!

Some days ago I posted F on my Instagram and it got quite a lot of likes, so here is the blog post provided! F is for The Fault in our Stars, Friendship Bracelet, Feather, Flower and Frizz-Ease.

Let's start with the Friendship Bracelet, shall we? It is a bracelet I bought together with my Spanish exchange student Ana when she stayed with me in the Netherlands. Before we met we had no idea that we would become such great friends. We had completely different interests and barely understood one another when speaking over Whatsapp. But during the two weeks we spent together, both in Spain and in Holland, we had so much fun that we shred tears when we had to say goodbye to one another. I couldn't have wished for a better exchange experience with her and I still miss her to this day. (It's been almost a year since we last saw each other) We may not ever meet again, but I hold the memories very dearly.

The Fault in our Stars by John Green... Let me flash back to last summer when I opened this book for the first time after having it stand on my bookshelf for weeks: I opened it and couldn't stop reading. I love, love, love the book so much for its light ambiance. Although it is quite a sad book, the characters are very light-minded and funny. It completely changes the way you look at the world, which, for me, makes it a worthwhile read. The minute I finished the book I couldn't stop talking about it and nearly forced my best friend to read it as well. She did, and she, too, loved it to bits.

What is there to say about a Feather other than it is, well, a feather? My sister collects feathers and they stand in a little glass jar on her nightstand. It's quite pretty to look at and it suits the other objects standing next to it. (Old books, dried roses, little bird skulls, and pretty stones) It gives me the feeling of magic, and I'm not entirely sure why. This feather I randomly picked, by the way. It is in no way the prettiest she has ;)

Now this is where I can start getting really excited over little things again :) Flowers! I absolutely love everything that has to do with spring and summer (except maybe wasps and mosquitoes) and thus also flowers. ✿ You have no idea how happy it makes me when the birds start chirping again and the sun starts rising earlier in the morning and the flowers pop up out of the soil. It's just the way little flowers dance in the wind, or the way my cat plays with them in the garden and the way bees work their asses off to pollinate them. When I'm older I wish to have a beautiful garden full of flowers of all sorts, a bit like my grandpa's. He is constantly busy planting and taking care of the flowers in his garden, and the results I and my family get to enjoy during the warmer seasons. It's been that way ever since I can remember, and I love how some things simply never change.

I am a girl with long, curly hair, and sometimes (more than I'd like to admit) that hair needs taming. A product I love to use for this is Frizz-Ease by John Frieda. From what I understand there are several products of his sharing this name, and the one I have is called Secret Agent Perfecting Crème. To quote what is written on the tube: "It tames frizz and smoothes dry ends." This product can be used for both straight or curly hairstyles, and it smells delicious. :)

Just to get back to the flowers one last time, I would like to add this lovely song (also starting with the F) by the Lumineers. The first time I heard it was in an episode of Reign and I fell in love with both the song and the scene. It's called Flowers In Your Hair, and the scene is absolutely adorable. For those of you who watch Reign, it's the scene where little prince Charles says "She even smells nice." about Mary in the carriage. Francis replies to this with a sigh and a lovesick "I know." It is so light-hearted, just hearing the song can make your day at least 10% better.

Eeek, what objects start with the letter E?

You'd think it's easy to find object starting with the letter E, well, it isn't. Frankly, I find this collage a little boring compared to the others, but I'm posting it anyway :)

E is for Elastic bands, Earrings, Envelope, Eye shadow, Earplugs and Edgar Allan Poe.

Let's kick off with the main necessity in this collage; elastic bands. I wouldn't be able to live without them, honestly. I must say, though, that I wear my hair down more than I wear it up. (Which is solely because of my laziness) The past weeks I've been experimenting with different hairstyles, and I've come to find that I quite enjoy wearing my hair differently from time to time. My hair is curly and thick, and tends to be easily affected by the weather... Especially when it's raining... Lucky me, I live in the Netherlands! (Note: Sarcasm)  I've mastered the art of the "bun" on top of my head, although it hurts like hell to get all of my hair into one small, neat bun. I recently started wearing my hair in a high ponytail as well, and I'm currently practicing with braids :) And when I say practicing I mean cussing at tutorial videos on Youtube because they make it look so easy and I just can't seem to succeed.

If I was asked to give an example of an object of which I have hundreds but hardly use, I would say earrings. I recently gave a whole load of earrings away because I just didn't wear them. There are, however, like three favourite pairs which I do use: Including these little triangular earrings I bought at Parfois in Spain.

To return to a previous theme, I added one of the envelopes from my Snailmail box. This one I didn't make myself, but bought along with a cute postcard from Flow. I find it an adorable envelope with the little snail on it and the pretty use of colours (bright pink and beige). To tell you the truth, the inside of the envelope is even prettier :)

It took me a while to find a proper palette of eye shadow! I hardly wear it and the eye shadow that I do occasionally wear is all smudged inside the package so I figured that wouldn't look as pretty in the photograph. The only eye make-up I use is mascara and eye-liner, and I find that to be enough :)

Speaking of items I can't live without: Earplugs! (or earphones, whatever you call them) Oh, my, I don't know what I'd do if these weren't invented yet. I love listening to music while I'm cycling home from my dance classes in the late afternoon, or when I'm heading to the city on my own. I am, however, quite picky about when I listen to music outside. Like last week, when the weather was so nice and the birds were singing so prettily for the first time in months that I just couldn't bear blocking them out with One Direction :p I might as well just go ahead and say right now that I have a soft spot for birds... They are simply so cute and I love to hear them sing. I remember some time this winter I was sitting in class, taking some test, and all of a sudden I got really sad because I hadn't heard a bird sing for a very long time. And I couldn't figure out whether the birds were just gone or whether I had gone way too deep inside my mind. I just know that it made me very sad.

Edgar Allan Poe I sadly have nothing to say about. I just added this book to make the picture look pretty and I have never read a word of it. (shame on me) But, who knows! Maybe I will read it in the future and I will make up for this let down of a blog post ;)

In other news: I have been loving and obsessing over Zoella lately, and she posted a video on Youtube earlier this week showing the clothes she bought at Boohoo. I looked at her with awe. I more than loved the items she bought and couldn't help but browse through the amazing online Fashion shop as well. I just purchased a grey maxi dress, which Zoe is also wearing in her video, along with a dark grey midi dress. I am really excited for my package to arrive and to see how these longer dresses look on my body ♥ I have never worn anything like it before, so I am eager to find out. When they arrive, which should be within 5-10 workdays, I promise I will make a blog post about how they look :)
